We are holding the Village Festival on Saturday 6th July 2019 from 1-6pm.

Join us for a wonderful community day out, and enjoy lots of tasty food options highlighting the diversity of our borough.

A variety of stalls will line Orford Road, there will be live music, and family friendly activities include bouncy castles.

Our aim is to bring the community together through our love of food & drink and to celebrate the cultural diversity of our wonderful community.

This event is sponsored by local businesses, supported by the community, and organised by Waltham Forest Community Hub.

Note that Orford Road will be closed to motor traffic 11am – 8pm between its junction with East Avenue and Church Lane. Parking will be suspended between these two junctions, and all of Summit Road. The W12 will be diverted to run via Church Hill.

  1. I was the Chair from 1993 to 2000, Loved every moment of it’s organisation, although a lot of work 🙂

    • Used to be amazing back in the day when you chaired it all the bands on every corner near the queens arms and all that ! We still go and will be this year but its nothing like it used to be

  2. You guys are amazing. The Festival was an absolute work of art, and must have taken up the whole of your lives and energy to organise. A huge thank you and a huge well done to the amazing team who made this happen.

  3. Hi guys
I have just seen a post about the E17 village festival. This is great but why dont you ever get the local residents involved on the road you have it on? We dont even receive anything in our post box as common courtsey to let us know. we always have to hear via hear say. This would also be a great way of getting the local residents to help and support you….regards by a rather bemused resident.

  4. Hello there,
Thanks for your comment. Its a shame you’ve not heard directly about the Festival in the past as we do promote it widely. Last year and previous years we put flyers through letterboxes in Walthamstow Village, we’ve also had banners on the railings outside the Community Hub in Orford Road, there is an article in Walthamstow Village Residents Assoc magazine (it came out this week). Also, the businesses that support the Festival have flyers and a sticker in their window. We also use social media to promote and post the Festival in EList and other local ‘what’s on’ sites. The Festival team is based in the WF Community Hub in Orford Road. Why not pop in to see us, we’d be happy to chat to you about this year’s plans for the Festival and any ideas you have to help us spread the word more widely. Its set to be another great community event, let’s hope the sun shines.
